African Parks, protecting people and wildlife – The Explorations Company

Protecting 10.5 million hectares of national parks for the benefit of people and wildlife. We wanted to share some of our top good news stories from the year so far, and thank all of you for making it.

We are in the midst of a conservation crisis that is occurring around the globe resulting in the catastrophic loss of countless species and the accelerated destruction of wild landscapes. Protected areas are facing a critical period where the number of well-managed parks is fast declining. Those that are unmanaged will be lost, and those that remain will become highly valued and possibly even more threatened.

African Parks is a non-profit conservation organisation that takes on the complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities.

African Parks currently manage 15 national parks and protected areas in nine countries covering 10.5 million hectares: Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Zambia.

BONUS CLIPS #4 – Cloudlapses, wildlife, paddlesteamer, and a special intro!

Welcome to my 4th bonus clips video. Occasionally I have some small clips left over that don’t really fit in anywhere else. I’m having trouble finding time to go fishing in the busy holiday season, so I figured it was the perfect time to upload another one of these.
In today’s episode I show off a special intro that was made by a friend of mine, a timelapse of a storm front moving in, a V-Line train passing over a river bridge, a timelapse of when I put my camera down aimed at the sky so I could go talk to some people, a mudlark pecking around for food, The Emmy Lou paddlesteamer blowing it’s whistle, a couple of feeding ducks, and a 50% speed slo-mo of the Elmore weir waterfall.

YAHWA made that special intro for me, please consider taking the time to go and check his channel out. Don’t be deterred by the alternate languages in his video titles, the majority of his content is language-neutral. He uploads a lot of funny fail videos, as well as some people with awesome skills. Here’s a link to one of his funny videos –

Chitwan National Park Safari Guide (coming soon)

Meghauli Serai Taj Safaris Review :

Written guides are generally posted one week after video posting.

At the Meghauli Serai,Taj Safaris lodge, I did an unbelievable Chitwan National Park Safari (well, two really). This first was a jeep safari drive and check out the load of what I saw

If Chitwan National Park isn’t on your bucket list for Nepal, it should be.It’s an incredible World Heritage UNESCO site with some intense wildlife. Just five to six hours from Kathmandu and originated in 1973, Chitwan National Park (otherwise known as “The Heart of the Jungle”) used to be a gaming and hunts grounds for the royal family.

Located next to the Rapti river, my Chitwan National Park safari was located opposite of my lodge ! Remember to LIKE and Comment on this video.

Wild Animal Volunteers – Cango Wildlife Ranch Oudtshoorn South Africa

The Cango Wildlife Ranch is one of only four facilities on the continent of Africa to have obtained accreditation from the African Association of Zoological Gardens and Aquaria (PAAZA). PAAZA is an internationally recognized organization with an accreditation standard recognized by the World Association of Zoos and Aquaria (WAZA) of which we are also members. The Cango Wildlife Ranch was awarded this prestigious accreditation in December 2003 and again in October 2009 when the Ranch underwent its five-yearly review of evaluation according to PAAZA’s high standards.

The PAAZA accreditation process encourages an institution to make incredible efforts to upgrade its facilities to the highest levels for the benefit of both its visitors as well as its animals. Our accreditation served as recognition of our conservation ethos, our high level of animal care as well as our exceptional facilities for our visitors with evaluations on animal husbandry, animal collections, safety and security, conservation education, research, staff and ethics being the other guidelines for the accreditation.

Homemade Safari: Incredible Drone Footage Of Serengeti Wildlife

A BRITISH wildlife photographer has captured stunning new shots of Africa – using a homemade helicopter drone. Will Burrard-Lucas, 30, spent five months building and learning to fly the BeetleCopter before taking it out from a spin in the Serengeti in Tanzania. He was able to capture sweeping scenes of migrating wildebeest and antelope as well as intimate shots of giraffe and hyena.

This video is not a travelogue of Costa Rica but rather a call to appreciate and help protect the remarkable flora and fauna of this small but beautiful country. Most of the species we observed are in decline, some are on watch lists or threatened, and a few are endangered and at risk of extinction. Photographs and descriptions of all species we photographed can be accessed in a separate website at:
